The breeding, nourished and grown with forage and vegetables from organic agriculture cultivated in the agricultural fund of the company, is made up of biodiversity cows of the Bruna Alpina, Bianca Val Padana and Bardigiana breed, as well as the Frisian ones . With their milk exclusively from our cows, organic Parmigiano-Reggiano and the highest quality derived products are prepared.
In 2002 a new stable was built with free animals that, from birth to adulthood, can graze freely in the fields, cultivated in rotation just as they once did, in the most suitable seasonal periods. Important and courageous innovations that guarantee rich, valued and excellent products.
The cattle farm of the Iris farm has been certified organic since 1997, and constantly monitored by the Consortium for the Control of Organic Products (CCPB). In 2003 the organic production of Parmigiano-Reggiano started. The first forms of organic Parmigiano Reggiano were therefore available at the end of the seasoning, starting from 2005.
